Winter Wellness Tea

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon elder flower

  • 1 tablespoon burdock root

  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger

  • 1 pinch cayenne powder

  • 1 cup pure water

  • Optional: 2 tablespoons natural sweetener; 1 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee

Preparation

  1. Combine all solid ingredients in a small pot and add the water last. 

  2. Turn heat to medium-high. Bring pot to a low boil and simmer until the fruit is softened, about 15 minutes.

  3. Cover and remove from heat for 5 minutes, then strain into a clean jar.

  4. Add sweeteners, if using.

  5. Add coconut oil or ghee to protect and soothe your skin during the cold days of winter.

  6. Enjoy!
